What is KYC / Why do I need to fulfill KYC requirements?

KYC is short for Know Your Customer.

In-keeping with global regulations, and As per UAE Regulations & Emirates Islamic Policy, it is mandatory to keep up-to-date information about customers to comply with global anti-money laundering laws and to limit fraud. KYC also helps us know our customers better, so we can serve them better. So, by keeping your information with us up to date, you’re helping us deliver a better banking experience to you.

No, KYC requirements have always been in place.

What will happen if I don’t provide the required KYC documents to the bank?

If your documents are not up-to-date on our records, this will prevent us from providing you with the best service we can. We may even have to restrict access to your accounts and potentially terminate services, in accordance with the UAE Regulations & Emirates Islamic Policy laws.

What is this portal for?

This portal lets you view and update your KYC details and documents with the bank instantly at your convenience. For further queries, or to track the status of your update, call +971 600 59 9995

How can I submit an update or document via this portal?

When you log in, you will see all your outdated or incomplete (invalid) records highlighted in red. Go ahead and update these. The portal has 6 pages, pleased go through all of them. Once you’re done, your records should turn to green.

Will I receive a confirmation of the updates?

Yes, once your records are successfully updated, you will receive a confirmation email and SMS. If our customer service team has any questions, they may reach out to you for clarifications.

How frequently do I need to provide KYC documents?

As soon as any of your KYC information changes, you should update us via this portal. Our teams also review our customers' records on an ongoing basis, and we’ll get in touch if we need any updates.

My account is Dormant. Do I need to provide KYC documents to activate the it?

You need to submit KYC documents to reactivate your account. Please get in touch with your Branch or Relationship Manager to initiate the process. Refer to the Inactive / Dormant FAQs for additional details on Dormant / Inactive accounts.
